Tip #226: Empower User Question: Viewing Signed Off Results with View Filter in Empower

Welcome back to Get Empowered! In the last Empower tip-of-the-week blog for Empower Chromatography Data System, we learned how to perform Glycan analysis using the GPC option for Empower. (Tip #225).

In this week’s tip, we will answer an Empower user question regarding determining which Results have been Signed Off.

Q: How can I see if a Result has been Signed Off?

Great question. This can be done with a View Filter.  (Refer to Tips #166-169 & 172 for details on creating View Filters).

Let’s get started.

Step 1

An easy way of knowing if a result has been Signed Off is to create a ‘View Filter’ which includes the ‘Number of Sign Offs’ field (figure 1).

Step 5

If your Sign Off was completed using an ‘Individual Report’ Method, right click on a Result, select ‘View As, Sign Offs’ and only the Sign Offs associated with that Result will be displayed (figure 5).

Step 7

You can create a View Filter to specifically display either ‘Sign Off Level 1’ or ‘Sign Off Level 2’ by adding a condition in the ‘Sign Off Reason’ field (figure 7).

Step 8

The Sign Off table now displays all Results with a ‘Sign Off Level 2’ (figure 8).

It’s that easy!
