Get Empowered: Tip #212 | Defining Injection and Channel Status Fields
Tip #212: Defining Injection and Channel Status Fields in Empower
Welcome back to Get Empowered! In the last Empower tip-of-the-week blog for Empower Chromatography Data System, we revisited the VLOG series showcasing Empower as an important tool to implement Method Lifecycle Management (MLCM) and discussed using the Method Validation Manager option in Empower to streamline the validation of a chromatographic method (Episode #10 / Tip #211).
In this week’s tip, we will begin a brief series on Injection and Channel Status fields (Introduced in Empower 3, Service Release 3).
The Injection and Channel Status fields describe the state of an injection or channel. While acquiring data, the fields list the acquisition stage. After acquisition is complete, the field status indicates any errors that occurred during acquisition or any actions that users took after acquisition.
Let’s get started.
Step 1
The Injection and Channel Status fields appear by default in certain tabs of the Project Window and in the Review Window (figures 1-3).

Step 2
The Injection Status field indicates the current or final acquisition status, or the source of the injection. Empower updates the Injection Status during acquisition and displays the final status upon completion. The final status indicates actions or errors that occurred while the data was being acquired (figure 4).

Step 3
The Channel Status field indicates the acquisition status of the data (figure 5).

Step 4
The Channel Status field also indicates the post-acquisition status of the data. The status may be updated when Empower reads the data file (figure 6).

It’s that easy!
